Message from Dr. Christine Chambers: Implementation Science Chairs and Healthy Youth Team Grants

Congratulations to the recipients of the Implementation Science Chairs in Human Development, Child and Youth Health, and the teams funded through IHDCYH’s Healthy Youth Team Grants.
Through the Implementation Science Chairs competition, five remarkable researchers will lead programs grounded in research co-production to translate evidence into impact by ensuring that what works in research gets used in the real world. These five-year appointments will strengthen implementation capacity in Canada, advance implementation science, and promote health and health equity.
Congratulations to Angela S Alberga, Derek K Chu, Sarah E Munce, Leslie E Roos (General pool), and Rosalin Miles (Indigenous Health Implementation Science Chair in Human Development, Child and Youth Health).
In partnership with the CIHR Institutes of Gender and Health (IGH) and Population and Public Health (IPPH), IHDCYH is pleased to share that six outstanding teams have been funded to lead youth-engaged research aligned with the priority areas identified in Canada’s Youth Policy. As part of our Healthy Youth Initiative, their work will advance youth-led approaches to improve health outcomes for young people in Canada.
Congratulations to the teams led by Carolyn A Emery, Tanya G Halsall, Rayzel Shulman (General pool), Patricia A Johnston (Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit or Métis) Youth Health), Amy Shawanda (Two-Spirit (2S), Trans, Non-binary and/or other Gender Diverse Youth Health), and Karen Patte (Reducing Social Inequalities in Health among Canada’s Youth).
Sincerely,
Christine
