Institution Activity Reports
What is an Institution Activity Report?
Institution Activity Reports are a summary of an institution’s College Member activities during the previous fiscal year. They are sent every year in the fall and include data about College membership, review invitations, submitted/successful applications, and the College Members’ demographics (e.g. primary theme, sex, peer review language ability and career stage). The report is based on self-reported data from College Members with additional information from CIHR’s grants management system.
Who is eligible to receive an Institution Activity Report?
Reports are sent to eligible institutions that have five or more College Members. These reports are shared directly with institution’s Vice-President of Research (or equivalent), Research Administrators and and University Delegates. If your institution would like to receive a report, please contact us at college@cihr-irsc.gc.ca.
Why are Institution Activity Reports Sent?
Institution Activity Reports give institutions a high-level summary regarding their institution’s College Membership, demographic breakdown, peer review participation and success rates. Including:
- Highlighting the contributions researchers have made to peer review
- Listing individuals who were recognized for their outstanding performance as a reviewer by committee executives (Chair and/or Scientific Officers) and CIHR staff. Vice-Presidents of Research have congratulated and given praise to their Outstanding reviewers
- Initiating conversation/dialogue between the College of Reviewers and the institution's Vice-Presidents of Research, Research Administrators and University Delegates
- Providing parent institutions with additional information regarding affiliate organizations
- Helping institutions identify the gaps in their College Membership (e.g., lack of Biomedical College Members)
