Information about Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases causing dementia
According to the World Health Organization, approximately 35.6 million people around the globe are currently living with dementia. This number is expected to double by 2030 and more than triple by 2050.
Between 2006-2007 and 2013-2014, through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, more than $220 million has been invested in research related to Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases causing dementia, including $37.8 million in 2013/2014.
