3rd IHDCYH Annual Symposium for New Investigators and Trainees in Perinatal Research in conjunction with the Western Perinatal Research Meeting
Michael S. Kramer, Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health (IHDCYH), is pleased to invite new researchers and trainees to attend the 3rd Symposium in Perinatal Research in conjunction with the Western Perinatal Research Meeting. This Symposium is for new investigators (within 5 years of completing their research training), postdoctoral fellows, and PhD students (within 2 years of completing their degree) from Canadian universities, hospitals, and research institutes.
The focus of the symposium is career development. It will feature sessions on grant writing, publishing, developing a research program, and grant peer review with mentoring provided by senior researchers. The symposium will also feature the awarding of prizes for the outstanding New Investigators and postdoctoral fellows in perinatal health research based on the last CIHR open competition.

Registration
The Symposium will be held at Banff Conference Centre located in Banff, AB, on February 17, 2011 and the meeting room can accommodate up to 50 new investigators and trainees. CIHR-IHDCYH will provide a limited number of travel funds (travel expenses and accommodation costs for up to 2 nights) to new investigators and trainees.
